As we approach the end of our fourth month following the announcement of the new name for the BCFA, Commercial Interiors UK wanted to find out what the association means for our members. We caught up with four leaders from our member companies who have provided their account of what Commercial Interiors UK means to them.
Jo Gibson, Protocol
“Commercial Interiors UK is an invaluable partner to our business. Apart from the wide array of networking events that CIUK facilitates throughout the year, we benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the CIUK team and their partners. This is wide ranging and has included sustainability, post BREXIT support, recruitment and government lobbying to represent us and the other CIUK members to effect change.”
Alistair Gough, Ocee Design
“Commercial Interiors UK is a great supporting organisation to Ocee International through its market insights, training and development support and the opportunity to build strong industry relationships through collaboration and networking events.”
Carolyn Mitchell, Hypnos Contract Beds
“Being part of a leading trade association has been invaluable to the businesses I have worked for and for me personally. I am privileged to have served as a board member for over 20 years, and now to be serving a second term as Chairwoman. During that time as a sector and association, we have faced many challenges, navigated change, and always represented our membership tirelessly.
Ultimately for me it’s about people, relationships, and learning. I am involved because I want to contribute, to support everyone's success and give back to the community. To make a difference you need to be involved, take risks and be a voice at the table, in that way collectively we can all make a positive difference to ensure the future success of the commercial interiors sector.”
Ben Reed, Hansgrohe
“The CIUK association is part of the UK design institution and a fantastic platform for so many people associated within manufacturing and design today.
Its reputation proceeds itself and it can be proud of the fact it has such tremendous support & following. To summarise for me personally it conjures up a number of key elements, information, inspiration, support, knowledge & most importantly of all friendships within our industry. To quote Kipling ‘For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack’ this could apply so well to CIUK.”
As we move into the rest of 2023, we look forward to continuing to shape commercial interiors with our members. We are delighted to see our association deliver unrivalled expertise, support and useful industry relationships, assuring a successful future for commercial interiors.
