Purpose:
We are seeking a high-calibre individual to strengthen our Sales Team and contribute to Chelsom’s continued success in the dynamic and competitive specification market.
With our growth plan, we are enhancing our London & South Sales Consultant Team to deepen market penetration and expand client engagement.
The new Sales Consultant will be responsible for generating new business, cultivating relationships with both new and existing clients, and managing an active pipeline of projects across Greater London and Southwest.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service and align with Chelsom’s Purpose and Sales Strategy—playing a key role in our next phase of growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Act as a self-motivated and results-oriented sales professional with a “hunter” mindset, driving new business opportunities.
- Work independently to achieve Business Development targets, proactively generating leads and building a robust sales pipeline.
- Present Chelsom’s product portfolio, with a clear understanding and appreciation of the specification process.
- Negotiate commercial terms directly with end-users and procurement teams to secure profitable contracts.
Project Management & Internal Collaboration
- Take full ownership of generated projects, managing them from initial enquiry through to completion with minimal supervision.Collaborate with an in-house Sales Coordinator, who will support project administration from Head Office.
- Maintain regular communication with Sales Director, providing accurate forecasts, status updates, and strategic input.
- Utilise Chelsom’s advanced CRM system to track opportunities, manage contacts, and maintain real-time project visibility.
Territory Management & Field Activity
- Operate in a self-managed, field-based capacity, working from a home office to plan client visits, pursue leads, and manage your project pipeline.
- Execute sales strategies in alignment with objectives outlined by the Sales Director.
- Attend regular meetings at Head Office in Lancashire and maintain close collaboration with the Sales Director.
- Industry Presence & Networking
- Represent Chelsom at UK exhibitions, connecting with existing clients and generating new business opportunities.
- Proactively network with complementary suppliers in the contract interiors and hospitality sectors to build industry visibility and identify potential partnerships.
Candidate Profile – Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in sales and business development, ideally within the decorative interiors’ specification market.
- Strong understanding of the global hospitality sector, with considerable experience working for a supplier in this space.
- Familiarity with the London architecture and design (A&D) community is highly desirable.
- Demonstrates drive, resilience, self-motivation, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—with a professional and confident approach.
- Project management capability, with a track record of managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to tender, delivery, and completion.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
- Able to work collaboratively within a wider team while operating independently and autonomously in a field-based role.
- Full UK driving licence required.

Salary: Competitive and flexible depending on experience. Salaried non-commission position.
