The Company

At Elegant Clutter we believe that art can be anything. We also believe that anything is possible. So we created Art Story, an international art consultancy that knows no limits. We are building a team that will help grow Elegant Clutter’s art and sculpture business in the hospitality industry on a global scale. If you think you have the imagination and passion to make a difference and fancy working in a dynamic and creative environment, then please get in touch.

Purpose of the Job

Build and expand our client base across the hospitality and cruise sectors by identifying projects where the company’s full range of products and services can be sold profitably. Forge strong relationships through regular phone calls, face-to-face meetings, and events to secure repeat business with designers, contractors, operators, and brand owners. A key focus will be on higher-end clients who require the fee-based Art Consultancy services of Elegant Clutter’s in-house Art Story team.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Deliver revenue growth for the Art Story brand with a London-centric strategy
  • Identify and convert new global business opportunities across luxury and premium hospitality and cruise
  • Build long-term, partnership-led relationships with like-minded clients and partners
  • Develop your own leads through networking, market knowledge, referrals and direct outreach
  • Pitch Art Story to potential clients and partners and confidently present concepts and ideas
  • Work consultatively with clients to shape early art briefs and suitable artwork solutions
  • Brief opportunities clearly to the HQ team for design, costing and delivery
  • Work closely with account managers and art consultants to convert leads and RFPs into ordered projects
  • Build and maintain a strong CRM process, with accurate pipeline, forecasting and reporting
  • Attend and host industry events, exhibitions, networking and social events (including evenings)
  • Track competitor activity and market trends and feed insight back into the business
  • Support sales and marketing activity to position Art Story as a premium industry partner
  • Provide regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline and KPIs
  • Support and develop a BD Exec / key account team member
  • Live the company values: Build Relationships, Take Ownership, Always Learning and Create the Difference

Personal Attributes and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in business development or sales within hospitality, interiors, design, procurement or a closely related sector
  • A proven track record of opening doors, closing deals and delivering revenue growth
  • An established network within London’s hotel, cruise, interior design and hospitality community
  • Experience selling consultative, design-led or service-based solutions
  • Confident presenter, comfortable communicating with senior decision-makers and high-profile clients
  • Commercially aware, organised and comfortable managing CRM systems, sales pipeline and forecasting
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A natural relationship builder who works collaboratively and leads by example
  • An interest in art, design and the hotel guest experience
  • Self-motivated, autonomous and stimulated by a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • Creatively minded but with the ability to digest, analyse and work confidently with numbers.

Future of the Role

The immediate priority is to deliver a strong return on investment through new business growth. We are looking for a team player who takes ownership of their projects and clients and will always find a way to succeed. The successful candidate will be driven by the opportunity to progress professionally, personally and financially. As the pipeline develops, this role has clear scope to expand into leading a larger Business Development function. For the right person, there is potential to progress into a more strategic position in the company.
