Commercial Interiors UK were proud to support a new documentary produced by Cube on sustainability in the furnishings sector entitled Sustainability: a Broken Record. Commercial Interiors UK and NEWH held a unique industry event which exclusively previewed a screening of the film followed by a panel discussion and networking at the Barbican. Both Commercial Interiors UK and our media partner Design Insider strive to instigate focused and dynamic conversations on important and urgent topics, that unite Commercial Interior Designers and Manufacturers.

We are proud partners of Planet Mark, a sustainability certification helping organisations measure and reduce their carbon emissions and enhance their contributions to society. Their Certification recognises continuous improvement, encourages action and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals who make a world of difference.
Commercial Interiors UK members are taking solid steps to make sustainability central to their business operations and this relationship with Planet Mark supports the continual improvement in reducing our memberships’ carbon footprint. With this, we run webinars with Plant Mark to give guidance to our members seeking to become more energy efficient in their processes.
As part of membership, Commercial Interiors UK encourages its members to follow a code of sustainable best practice. To support this, our members have a sustainability network which holds two forums each year that allows members to meet, exchange experiences, ideas and to hear of latest developments from leading sustainability experts.
Our media partner Design Insider now hosts ‘Design Insider Talks’ which instigate sector leading, focused and detailed conversations that tackle urgent and gritty questions within Commercial Interiors. Commercial interior designers recently joined them in Table Place Chairs’ Clerkenwell showroom to engage in discussion and leave with actionable knowledge to apply and share within their team.
Design Insider also have a regular series of articles called ‘Sustainability Leaders’ which dedicates a selection of articles predominantly focusing on the area of Sustainability. It involves a series of in-depth interviews with the individuals responsible for sustainability in each supplier brand.
We are looking forward to continuing our mission of helping our members in their sustainability journeys, keep an eye out for future sustainability focused events and talks.
