The BCFA was again well represented at the Independent Hotel Show this year with 17 members exhibiting, although there were several collaborations which resulted in at least another six members in evidence.
The show kicked off well on Tuesday with queues waiting outside to gain entry for the 10am launch. The first day was pretty busy all day and our members reported some very satisfactory leads. Wednesday was quieter attendance wise, but we had some very interesting enquiries at the BCFA stand.
It was particularly satisfying for us to find smaller hotels and specifiers coming to us for some advice and guidance for their supply chain, seeing the BCFA as a provider of expertise to direct them to the best suppliers for their particular requirements. I was delighted to help a new company who had a contract to provide pods for delivery to Iceland – my favourite holiday destination!
We loved the Concept Contract stand as they had bent over backwards to incorporate as many of our members into their stand design as possible.
Showcasing their soft furnishing expertise as well as furniture by Knightsbridge, Newmor wallcoverings, lighting by Astro, Roca bathroom fittings and Sunbury Design fabric.
Another new collaboration was Decca who were showing off their stunning furniture on the Dometic stand a company renowned for their heritage in refrigeration who as well as their popular mini bars were showing hotel security solutions.
Franklite had a particularly stunning stand with a lovely pendant centrepiece.
Whistler leather launched their faux leather brand Arch8.
Bathroom Brands had two stands to showcase their contemporary designs as well as their more traditional Burlington brand.
HF Contracts were new to the show this year and were demonstrating two seating solutions which as well as good looks showed off their actiposture seating systems which addresses the postural geometry of lounge seating to dramatically improve circulation, digestion, and respiratory problems.
Linwood as usual scored with the most beautiful stand creating both classic and contemporary design inspiration with their luxurious fabrics and wallpapers.
