Anita Petersen, our new Membership Manager visited the Annual Care Show 2019 on the 9th and 10th October, which was held at the NEC Birmingham. This is the UK's most established social care event which has the aim of uniting the sector and improving care across the country.
The eleven exhibiting BCFA members including Agua Fabrics, Bancroft Soft Furnishings, Bespoke by Evans, Edinburgh Weavers, Edmund Bell, Ena Shaw, ILiv Contract Textiles, Knightsbridge Furniture, Renray Healthcare, Shackletons and Teal Living dominated the centre area of the show and create the most eye-catching stands. BCFA members reported that the event seemed quieter than last year on numbers with fewer senior clients visiting. Overall, the event felt smaller than last year and this was borne out with participating BCFA members dropping from 13 to 11.
Several members also reported that they felt that the seminar areas were intrusive and were a distraction to the meetings that they were having on the stands. That being said, it was better to have the seminars taking place at the venue and not off site.
