It was another successful year at The Dorchester for the BCFA Annual Luncheon held last week. With a fantastic turnout of over 500 guests, the atmosphere was lively and exuberant.
The afternoon began with a bubbly drinks reception, giving everyone a chance to settle in and network enthusiastically. The guests then took to their seats in the ballroom, a stunning and bright space where they awaited a delicious luncheon. Before tucking in, Milan Cvetkovic, Chairman of the BCFA welcomed the guests and delivered an insightful speech highlighting the achievements of the association for 2016 and looking forward to 2017. Jeremy Stein, BCFA Managing Director then said grace and without delay everybody got stuck in the sumptuous food. The chatter was loud and enthusiastic as everyone was having a great time.
Following the lunch the Social Director of the BCFA, Charles Rae gave a loyal toast to HM The Queen. The Lifetime Achievement award was then presented by Mr Tony Attard OBE, CEO of Panaz, to Jan Wilson for her contribution to the contract furnishing industry over the years. “Make sure your offices have heating!” – Was what Jan offered as advice, as an Australian moving to the UK in the depths of winter in the late 70s. Thunderous applause was given and well deserved after her acceptance speech.
The afternoon concluded with entertainment from Mr Jon Culshaw, British comedian best known for BBC’s Dead Ringers.
Overall, this year’s luncheon was a wonderful event, reflecting a very positive and optimistic mood, and we look forward to next year!
