What is CPD?

CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is an education programme that professionals engage in to develop and enhance their abilities.

Engaging in Continuing Professional Development ensures that both academic and practical qualifications do not become out-dated or obsolete; allowing individuals to continually ‘up skill’ or ‘re skill’ themselves, regardless of occupation, age or education.

CPD obligations are present in most professions. Millions of professionals across the UK’s workforce are required to undertake CPD training every year. The construction industry professional bodies like RIBA, CIBSE, CIAT, SBID and CABE have long standing annual CPD requirements.

CPD combines different methodologies to learning, such as training workshops, conferences and events, e-learning programs, best practice techniques and ideas sharing, all focused for an individual to improve and develop professionally.
