For over 60 years, Chieftain have specialised in the design and production of high-quality performance fabric for contract upholstery. With their unique mix of specialist expertise, innovative R&D and advanced materials, they produce an inherently better fabric. Chieftain fabric is guaranteed to be technically capable, consistent, easy to work with and great-looking. They have continually strived to develop technically superior products for upholstery supplies.
Chieftain's most traditional and long-standing products are constantly evolving to ensure that they pass new EU regulations, REACH directives and customer-required improvements in the areas of microbial resistance (C. Diff, NDM-1), fire retardancy, durability (Just Colour reaches 1 million Martindale rubs and usability. Their top-quality materials and uncompromising manufacturing standards produce an inherently better product.
Sustainability is extremely important to Chieftain, and they are determined to keep their environmental impact to a minimum. Currently, 25% of Chieftain's base materials are from recycled content and they produce a fabric that is 90% recyclable.
Chieftain have most recently entered into the woven market with the launch of Ravel and Carousel. These are manufactured to the same high standard as their vinyls and have both Teflon™ and Aquaclean™ finishes. In keeping with their sustainability ethos, Carousel is made from 60% recycled content.
